What is APTET?

The Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for teaching positions in:

• Primary Schools (Classes I to V)
• Upper Primary Schools (Classes VI to VIII)
• Regular Schools
• Special Education Schools

APTET qualification is mandatory for future Teacher Recruitment Tests (TRT) in Andhra Pradesh.

📚 Papers Available

Paper 1A

For teaching Classes I to V in Regular Schools.

Paper 1B

For teaching Classes I to V in Special Schools.

Paper 2A

For teaching Classes VI to VIII in Regular Schools.

Paper 2B

For teaching Classes VI to VIII in Special Schools.

Candidates possessing eligibility for both levels can apply for multiple papers.

🎓 Eligibility Criteria

Paper 1A (Classes I–V Regular Schools)

Candidates should have:

• Intermediate with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/BC/PwBD)
  AND
• 2 Year D.El.Ed / D.Ed

OR

• Intermediate + 4 Year B.El.Ed

OR

• Intermediate + D.Ed Special Education

Paper 1B (Special Schools)

Candidates must possess Special Education qualifications recognized by RCI including:

• D.Ed Special Education
• DSE
• DCBR
• MRW
• DHLS
• Other RCI Approved Qualifications

Paper 2A (Classes VI–VIII)

Candidates must have:

• Graduation with minimum 50% marks (45% for reserved categories)
  AND
• B.Ed

OR

• B.El.Ed

OR

• Integrated B.A.B.Ed / B.Sc.B.Ed

OR

• B.Ed Special Education

Paper 2B (Special Schools)

Candidates must possess:

• Graduation/Post Graduation with 50% marks
  AND
• B.Ed Special Education or equivalent RCI approved qualification.
